Elaine received a B.S. in Chemistry at SungKyunKwan University, Korea in 2000, an M.S. in  Chemistry at SungKyunKwan University, Korea in 2002, and an M.S. in Computer Science at the  University of New South Wales, Australia in 2004. Elaine works as a software engineer in the Thorsson-Shmulevich lab at ISB.  Currently, she is working on the ISB-CGC project funded by the National Cancer Institute with the goal of giving widespread access to cancer genomic data. Before joining ISB, she spent several years developing web applications for research institutions, including the Seattle Children’s Research Institute.  Elaine is interested in data visualization and in her free time she likes to spend time with her family, traveling and skiing.
